Ellada Holdings purchased the Hague-based data centre (NL)

Ellada Holdings, the parent company of Data Facilities Data Centers purchased the real estate of its data centre in the Netherlands, located in The Hague. This strategic move represents an important milestone in the company's continued expansion within the Dutch retail colocation market. Data Facilities has been leasing the building since 2014, and this acquisition highlights the company's long-term vision for growth and ensuring stable service delivery in the region.

With this acquisition, Data Facilities announces plans for a 3.5Megawatt infrastructure expansion, which will be realised in modular phases over the next 24 months. This expansion is an essential part of the company's multi-year strategy to expand infrastructure, improve service delivery and implement innovative efficiency measures for increased energy efficiency and sustainability.

The Dutch data centre market is experiencing capacity constraints, particularly in power. Data Facilities is addressing this by proactively expanding its infrastructure to meet growing demand. The company is set to fulfil new customer orders by the first quarter of 2025, showcasing its flexibility and dedication to meeting customer needs in a supply-limited market.

Savvas Bout, founder and CEO of Data Facilities, shared his excitement about the future of the company: "The acquisition of the property was a crucial first step in securing our long-term expansion plans. Our strategy is not just about increasing capacity; It's also about strengthening our infrastructure to meet the highest standards of reliability and performance. By investing in a redundant and low-maintenance infrastructure, we guarantee that our data centre offers the high uptime and robustness that our customers expect and need. We want to simplify the process of gaining connectivity by making significant investments in our optical transport network and strengthening our carrier relationships. The data centre in The Hague offers multiple fibre access points and completely separate distribution paths. We are particularly proud of our managed interconnectivity services, which offer speeds of up to 400Gbps between seven directly connected data centres in the Amsterdam and Rotterdam region."

The data centre in The Hague currently offers space for 165 secure server racks, with the ability to modify additional parts of the building, allowing for expansion to between 255 and 275 server racks. The new cabinets support up to 10kW of power per rack, meeting the needs of high-performance computing environments.

The planned infrastructure improvements will meet the latest TIA-942 Rated 3 standards, ensuring that the facility continues to meet the highest standards of reliability and performance.
