CoreNet Global, the world's leading corporate real estate association, has expanded its European chapter structure to include a new Central Europe chapter, which will incorporate Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Liechtenstein, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia.
The organization has also confirmed that Thomas Glatte (38) head of corporate real estate management at BASF, will become President of the new chapter, and will also be responsible for sponsorship.
Thomas Glatte, Head of Corporate Real Estate Management at BASF comments: "We have previously organized chapter events in Germany in the last two years, and we had really good responses. We see a growing need for "best-practice sharing" corporate real estate in the region. CoreNet has an excellent global platform. The field of corporate real estate management will increasingly professionalise in the coming years, and the need for additional management skills is growing. This is where we want to step in."
Mark Tamburro, Vice President of workplace resources for Nokia and president of CoreNet Global, comments, "I am delighted that CoreNet Global is officially launching a brand new Central Europe chapter, and one that will support an important and dynamic region for us. Pleasingly, our new chapter will also reinvigorate our activities in Germany, while opening the doors to new countries where we have not historically had a presence, such as Czech Republic and Poland. I am looking forward to working closely with the chapter board members as we roll out this latest European venture, and to the official launch event during our Summit in Berlin."
The new Central Europe chapter board will consists of five additional members and will meet for its first official board meeting at CoreNet's Global Berlin Summit from September 21 to 23, 2008.
The additional board members are:
- Stefan Wolter (JCI), Executive Vice President and Treasurer and Secretary
- Anke Gerlach (Siemens Networks), Vice President, Programmes
- Sven Wingerter (Eurocres), Vice President, Marketing and Communications
- Frank Konrad (Shell), Vice President, Education
