The new IKEA megastore in Baronissi (Salerno) with a commercial area of 45,000 m² and 70,000 m² of landscaping and parking, at an investment of over 50 million, was built by CDS Holding, which assisted IKEA in the location search, the land purchase and the administrative process. CDS Costruzioni, the group's general contractor, designed and built part of the building and also provided the urban infrastructure, in this case a bridge over the motorway connecting the center of Baronissi with the megastore.
"Our collaboration with IKEA, begun 12 years ago, fully reflects the approach of CDS, which operates as a developer and general contractor, assisting retailers throughout their development process: consulting on location studies, administration, engineering, construction, and facility management," Enzo Danesi, Chairman of CDS Holding, said.
Since it formation in 1993, CDS has built over 50 retail warehouses and outfitted 20 retail stores, built 7 shopping centers and expanded and restructured 5 shopping centers. This track record places CDS among the Italian leaders in commercial real estate.
