Catella transfers its property management business to Gestrim (DE)

In future, Catella will focus its activities on the transaction consultancy and investment management segments. In this context, the Property Management segment was sold to the property company Gestrim that is active throughout Germany, and whose majority shareholder is the French Nexity Group. It was agreed that the purchase price would be kept confidential. Following the sale, Catella Germany's activities will now encompass the business lines of Corporate Finance, Property Advisors, Property Valuation, as well as Asset and Fund Management. In 2007 alone, Catella managed a Germany-wide sales transaction volume of significantly more than €4 billion and provided further transaction-related consultancy services totalling in excess of €10 billion.

"Catella's core business activities include transaction consultancy, ranging from portfolio structuring and the back office processing of all processes through to the conclusion of contracts and asset management as well as the valuation of buildings. Following our success in 2007, we aim to further expand this business segment," commented Andreas Quint, Managing Partner at Catella. "Focussing primarily on property management services in Germany, Gestrim will be able to achieve considerable synergetic effects with our property management team. As a company specializing in transaction consultancy, this would not have been possible for us to the same extent."

The sale of Catella Property Management GmbH will see all 33 members of staff being taken on.

The specialist in the management of commercial real estate and major residential portfolios within the Gestrim Group is the DIM Deutsche Immobilien Management GmbH. In order to bolster this business area, Catella Property Management GmbH and the DIM Deutsche Immobilienmanagement will be merged to better fulfil to the requirements of the customers throughout Germany.
