Castle Quarter – Norwich’s leading social, leisure and lifestyle destination – has further strengthened its experiential offer with the expansion of Vector Virtual Reality into a new, larger unit.
The virtual reality experience operator has taken a 4,223ft² unit on a new ten-year lease, a significant increase on the 1,594ft² space it initially took at Castle Quarter in September 2021. The move also brings it nearer to the destinations other social and leisure operators.
Vector’s virtual reality pods offer over 30 different experiences for individuals and groups of up to six people, with themes such as adventure games, puzzles, combat, artistic, storytelling and sport. Its expansion enhances what is already central Norwich’s leading social, leisure and lifestyle destination, with occupiers including Boom Battle Bar, Putt Putt Noodle, Escape Hunt, Si5 Spy Missions, Superbowl and Vue.
The offer will be further improved this autumn with the opening of Castle Social, a new 20,000ft² ‘market hall’ style streety food and entertainment concept occupying the entire top floor and opening out onto Castle Green.
In parallel, wedding dress outlet Wed2Be is also moving within Castle Quarter, signing a new ten-year lease on a 3,573ft² outlet in the destinations prime retail pitch. Wed2Be’s previous lease was due to expire in 2026, with the new agreement signalling its commitment to Castle Quarter.
Mark Harvey, executive director and head of asset management at RivingtonHark, said: “Castle Quarter has become Norwich’s hub for social and ‘competitive leisure’ experiences, and this clustering effect is driving benefits and footfall for all the operators. Vector Virtual Reality’s decision to expand into a larger unit not only shows its trading success to date, but also underlines Castle Quarter’s position as a social, leisure and lifestyle destination.”
