Risk capital fund Carlyle is in advanced talks to acquire hotel chain Grupo Occidental Hoteles for about 900 mln eur, El Pais reported citing unnamed sources.
According to El Pais, Carlyle has drafted an agreement with Occidental's core shareholders, La Caja de Ahorros y Pensiones de Barcelona and Mercapital, which each hold about 30 pct of the hotel chain.
El Pais said the Caixa declined to comment on the operation.
Occidental hotels manages over 80 hotels in 13 European countries.
