Bo Lerenius joins Land Securities Group PLC

Land Securities Group PLC announces that Bo Lerenius has been appointed to the Board as a non-executive Director with effect from 1 June 2004.

As Group Chief Executive of Associated British Ports Holdings PLC (“ABP”) since 1999, Bo has been responsible for developing the management team, refocusing ABP’s core ports and transport business, and for the significant progress which ABP has made in the implementation of its growth strategy.

Prior to joining ABP, Bo was Vice Chairman of Stena Line and Director of New Business Investments of Stena AB, one of the largest companies in Sweden, with responsibility for strategic investments in public and private companies outside Stena’s normal business areas. Between 1992 and 1998 he was Chief Executive of Stena Line.

Commenting on the appointment, Land Securities’ Chairman, Peter Birch, said, “We are delighted that Bo has agreed to join the Group. We believe his valuable experience of a business with substantial property holdings will complement and strengthen the Land Securities’ Board.”

Bo Lerenius added, “Land Securities is a recognised leader in the property industry, and I am excited to be joining the company at a time when the current market is presenting it with so many opportunities for growth.”

Peter Freeman will be stepping down as a non-executive director from the Board at the AGM. The Board would like to thank Peter for his valuable input and are pleased that the Group will still benefit from his sage counsel as a consultant on property matters.
