BAM wins € 52 million order for renovation of Bruges railway station (NL/BE)

De Meyer, CEI and Interbuild, three Belgian operating companies of Royal BAM Group, have jointly acquired an order for the renovation of Bruges railway station worth € 52 million. The work will be completed in the spring of 2008.

The project for Belgian railways (NMBS) will enhance station facilities and improve access. A pedestrian subway to the platforms is to be widened and deepened, creating space for various kiosks. New escalators and lifts will improve access to the platforms. Twelve platforms and the roof will be completely renovated. As a maximum of two tracks are permitted to be out of service at any one time (only one track during the summer months), the station’s renovation programme will be carried out in a number of phases. The project also includes the building of offices and a new, integrated station entrance hall, and the construction of underground car parks.
