ARCADIS realized an increase of 7% in net income from operations in the second quarter of 2002. Profit growth was hampered as a result of the decline in value of the U.S. Dollar and Brazilian Real against the euro. Excluding this exchange rate effect, growth in net income from operations was 11%. Operating income rose by 11%, while gross revenue stayed level with last year, due to exchange rate developments.
In the first six months of 2002, net income from operations rose 8%. Excluding exchange rate effects, net income from operations rose 10%. Gross revenue in the same period rose 3%.
