ProLogis announced today that it has signed two build-to-suit agreements with Ahold Polska for a total of 57,100 m2 of distribution space in Piotrkow and Bedzin, two key Polish distribution markets.
'Ahold Polska turned to ProLogis to support its distribution capabilities and future growth in Poland,' said Hans A. van Luijken, first vice president for ProLogis. 'Ahold´s development in the Polish market is a testament to the continued expansion and importance of this area as a primary distribution region.'
According to Maarten Goris, Logistics & Distribution Director for Ahold Polska, 'The development of the distribution centers will greatly simplify the supply management process to our chain of 180 supermarkets and hypermarkets, make procurement procedures much easier and assure better access to goods for our customers. Our shops receive fresh goods of the highest quality, and with professional distribution facilities, we expect to serve our customers even better.'
