Heijmans takes over Stork Iinfratechniek B.V.

Heijmans N.V. (construction, property development and related activities) expects to reach an agreement on the takeover of Stork Infratechniek B.V., a 100% operating company of Stork N.V., with its headquarters in Son, the Netherlands.

Upon reaching a final agreement, the transaction will take effect from 1 July 2002. The takeover will be funded with cash and will have a minor effect on the 2002 profit per Heijmans N.V. share.

Stork Infratechniek is a contracting company with specific knowledge in the areas of tunnel installations, ANWB signposting, dynamic signposting, construction and maintenance of mobile telephone sites (incl. UMTS), PV (Photovoltage), public lighting, middle- and high-tension installations and airfield installations. The focus is on the areas of external lighting and traffic management.

In addition to the Son headquarters, Stork Infratechniek has offices in Eindhoven, Leeuwarden, Groningen, Doetichem, Amsterdam (and Schiphol), Alphen aan de Rijn and Rotterdam. Stork Infratechniek realises with 359 employees an annual turnover of approximately EUR 50 million. For the time being, the company will remain active on the market under the name Heijmans Stork Infratechniek.

The intended acquisition strengthens the market position of the Heijmans Infrastructure and Environment division through expanding the activities to adjacent market segments and improving the geographic spread of the activities to the northeastern and central Netherlands.
