Council of Utrecht approves plans for station-area

The City Council of Utrecht last night has approved the plans for the Central Station area in Utrecht after a long debate of 8,5 hours. The responsible alderman W. Lenting has been given the green light to further develop his plans with the parties involved: Jaarbeurs, NS Real Estate and Cório (owner of the shopping center Hoog Catherijne).

These companies, who own the largest part of the area, have so far only indicated to be interested in cooperating with the city’s plans for the redevelopment of this area.
