Investment group AKRON embarks on joint venture with Curzon (AT/NL/UK/FR)

Curzon Global Partners, a subsidiary of IXIS AEW Europe, has acquired an interest in AKRON Investment B.V., a company belonging to the AKRON GROUP. This venture is the first step towards long-term cooperation in the Netherlands.

By means of this joint venture the AKRON Group has once again found a large and reputable institutional investor to support its activities. AKRON Investment B.V. currently manages 18 commercial properties with a value of more than €160 million in the Netherlands.

"For AKRON and Curzon, this joint venture is just the beginning of common activities. In the medium term, we plan to invest more than €500 million in Dutch office and logistic real estate", says Christian Thalhammer, founder and CEO of the AKRON Group. "After years of difficult conditions on the Dutch real estate market we foresee excellent opportunities in the Netherlands in the near future" explains Peter Ulm, partner of the AKRON Group, responsible for the Netherlands .

"This portfolio, totalling over 118,000 m², is a well-diversified, quality portfolio which gives this core-plus fund a solid entry into the Dutch market", said Ric Lewis, the Fund's Senior Portfolio Manager and Chief Executive Officer of Curzon. "We have identified an attractive opportunity for our investors and have forged a partnership with the owner, the Akron Group, who will act as our operating partner and assist us in identifying suitable future acquisitions," added Rob Reiskin, Managing Director and Head of Investments for Curzon.
