The properties are due to be completed by the start of the winter semester 2013/2014.

Scheduled to kick off in the near future are similar project developments in the campus towns of Bayreuth and Lübeck, as Rainer Nonnengässer, CEO of YOUNIQ AG said on occasion of the 'Student Housing Day' in London. Overall, Germany's leading provider of high-end student apartments is about to realize 1,206 new units.

"Then as now, there is a conspicuous shortage of student housing across Germany. This is particularly true for up-and-coming campus locations characterized by a high quality of living, such as Lübeck, Bayreuth, Mainz and Potsdam, where student apartments are urgently needed.

"According to figures released by the Deutsches Studentenwerk student services organization, an additional 25,000 dormitory units will be necessary to satisfy demand," elaborated Rainer Nonnengässer, CEO of YOUNIQ AG.

Against this background, it is intended to have the respective YOUNIQ properties completed by the start of the winter semester 2013/2014.

In Lübeck, the company will invest a total volume of €13 million to raise 187 apartments on a plot of 5,200 m², situated at the corner of Paul-Ehrlich-Strasse/Lise-Meitner-Weg. At the corner of Lenbachstrasse/Bismarckstrasse in Bayreuth, the company is raising 236 student apartments on 5,800 m² at a cost of approx. €15 million.

YOUNIQ AG is also creating student housing units in Brandenburg's state capital. In Potsdam's Kiepenheuerallee, it will spend an investment volume of approx. €26 million to develop 388 apartments on a total floor area of 9,000 m².

Finally, in Mainz, a total of 395 student apartments are about to be realized on a 7,700 m² plot on Wallstrasse. Regardless of location, these furnished studio-apartments, which have an average size of 20 m² and are invariably located in direct campus proximity, rent out for an 'all-in' rent (including all service charges, internet and cable) between €410-450 a month.
