Wirral Council seeks development partner for world-class Hoylake Golf Resort (UK)

DTZ has been appointed by Wirral Council to secure a development partner to deliver a world-class golf resort at Hoylake, the heart of England’s golf coast.

This unique opportunity will see the development of a luxury hotel with associated restaurant, health, leisure and conference facilities; the creation of an internationally acclaimed golf course and associated development commensurate with a high-quality golf resort.

Hoylake and Wirral benefit from a proud golfing history and the area is set to host the British Open in July 2014. Hoylake is the perfect setting for a new upscale golf resort, benefiting from its proximity to Chester, Liverpool and Manchester, but also access to some of the world’s most famous golf courses on its doorstep.

Richard Dawes, DTZ Hospitality Group, comments: ‘This is a very exciting opportunity, providing a unique opportunity for the hotel and golfing world to be part of Hoylake’s rich heritage of golf. There is a gap in the market for an upscale resort of this nature at Hoylake and Wirral, and we expect strong international and domestic interest in this opportunity.”

Cllr Phil Davies, Leader of Wirral Council said: “This is an incredibly exciting step for Wirral and its future as a landmark destination for golf tourism. As a Council, we are confident that with a suitable development partner in place we can deliver a top class golf resort that will build on the confidence generated by hosting such prestigious championships as The Open, The Ricoh Women’s British Open as well as Hoylake’s unique golfing pedigree.”

This opportunity has been launched through the European Union Competitive Dialogue procedure.
