Wicely wins CoreNet Global's Industry Excellence Award 2010 (BE)

Belgium based consultant Wicely has been awarded CoreNet Global's prestigious Industry Excellence Award 2010 for their toolkit for measuring requirements and defining solutions for mobile working. This marks the first time that a Benelux region company has won a CoreNet Global Award in the international competition.

Wicely's Activity-Based Office Optimization Toolkit (ABOOT) provides businesses with a scientific method for accurately measuring the activities and assessing the adapted solution for their mobile workspace, giving organizations the ability to define the type and amount of space required without having to rely solely on what can be insufficient data based on occupancy levels alone.

The toolkit has been tried and tested with clients such as Alcatel-Lucent and Fortis Bank, and can be used remotely by training users at the client's results are interpreted by Wicely to provide clients with a eye-opening insight into their own 'behavior'. In a second step this activity data can be 'transformed' mathematically into a customized solution.

The advantage of the tool is that creates customized activity based environments for the specific divisions which can be standardized into a 'generic' composition valid for all divisions, which is particularly important for organizations undergoing frequent changes since it avoids reorganizing the floor plate / fit out when groups move. Organizational changes can be coped with in real time, avoiding delays and costs.

Flip Verwaaijen, Chair, CoreNet Global Benelux Chapter and Managing Director, TNT Real Estate, comments, "It is very encouraging that an innovative new system for measuring flexible workspace that hails from our region has been celebrated with this significant international Award. The tool will significantly contribute to innovative thinking and practice around corporate real estate. I would like to congratulate Wicely for their achievement."

The judging panel for the Industry Excellence Award included David Nelson, Wells Fargo; Lana Gosnell, Union Bank; Dino Piccini, DTZ; and Keith Perske, Group 5 Consulting.

Following the prize, Wicely's ABOOT system has also now been shortlisted for the 2010 Global Innovator's Award (GIA), along with other awards finalists. The eventual winner will be announced in the Autumn during CoreNet Global's Summit in Arizona.

Other 2010 Global Award winners included Space Matrix Design Consultants for the Sustainable Leadership and Design Award, and Kansas City Area Development Council for the Economic Development Leadership Award.
