ULI Conference 2012: The only problems left are the big ones

This year's ULI Europe Conference, which takes place in Paris on Wednesday February 1, 2012, will draw together leading experts in the fields of demographics, economics, politics and climate change to debate how best to get things done in difficult times.

The opening session of the 2012 conference brings together a panel of experts including Dr. Amlan Roy, Managing Director & Head, Global Demographics & Pensions Research, Credit Suisse; Prof. Andrea Boltho, Emeritus Fellow, University of Oxford & Director, Oxford Economics; and Prof. Dr. Ernst Ulrich von Weizsäcker, Co-Chair, International Panel for Sustainable Resource Management, who will debate and explore how the real estate industry faces up to the current economic, political, and business trends.

The rest of the day is dedicated to sessions on topics such as redefining debt; the impact of IT on retail real estate; regional infrastructure; and sustainable technologies, with speakers giving real-world examples and offering a closer look at the opportunities from the emerging markets.

Top-level speakers include Olivier Piani (Allianz Real Estate), Dame Judith Mayhew Jonas (New West End Company), Christian Sautter (Deputy Mayor of Paris), Dr. Reinhard Kutscher (Union Investment Real Estate), and Brian Field (European investment Bank).

Now in its 16th year, the ULI Europe Conference attracts 600 influential decision makers representing an estimated €600 billion of real estate influence.
