Top banks invest in downtown Jebel Ali (UAE)

Standard Chartered Bank, Citibank and Blom Bank France are the latest international businesses to set up operations at Downtown Jebel Ali, global master developer Limitless announced today (July 28, 2009).

The Galleries will also soon offer around 300 apartments for lease.

The banks join household names such as Ericsson, Kraft Foods and L'Oreal on a growing list of local and international companies who have moved to A-grade offices or taken retail space in Downtown Jebel Ali's first four commercial towers, which are part of an eight-building mixed-use complex called The Galleries.

The offices offer high-quality, tailor-made accommodation with onsite property and facilities management services. Businesses can lease from 1,000 to 15,000 ft² (approx. 93 -1,400 m²) per floor, and can take multiple floors if required.

Saeed Ahmed Saeed, CEO of Limitless, said: "More and more local and international businesses are taking advantage of Downtown Jebel Ali's favourable location, convenient transport links and community-style environment. We are delighted to welcome Standard Chartered Bank, Citibank and Blom Bank France to The Galleries, which is fast becoming one of Dubai's most sought-after business hubs. More than a dozen firms are now based here, with more moving in shortly."

The Galleries, to be served by the Dubai Metro, will also soon offer around 300 apartments for lease, providing quality accommodation a stone's throw from the office towers and within easy reach of other parts of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Retail outlets at the complex are also taking shape, while extensively landscaped, shaded grounds are due for completion in September.

Saeed Ahmed Saeed added: "Limitless projects aim to enhance and enrich lives. The Galleries at Downtown Jebel Ali combines modern working with quality living, provides a healthy balance of indoor and outdoor life, and promotes the use of environmentally-friendly transport, all in a community-style setting."

Vishal Tikku, a Managing Director at Kraft Foods Middle East and Africa, said: "Kraft moved to The Galleries six months ago, and Limitless has worked closely with us to ensure that we settled in quickly and overcame any challenges associated with a major office move. We look forward to the fruition of the Limitless vision for The Galleries, as the residential, retail and public recreational come to life. And, with our office being barely 100 meters from the Metro station, we are eagerly awaiting the opening of the Dubai Metro, when we will see a major change in the way many of our employees commute to work."
