Thylander Group launches first Danish listed company to invest in German property market (DK)

Joined by a handful of well-reputed Danish investors, Victoria Properties A/S was launched on June 30 2006, as the first Danish listed company focusing on investments in German commercial and residential properties. Through Victoria Properties A/S, commercial and private investors are offered an opportunity to build up an exposure in Germany. Within the first month, Victoria Properties A/S has purchased three properties in Berlin at a total value of €10,785,000, with a total lettable area of 6,904 m².

The Clausen Family of the Danish global industrial concern Danfoss Group are among the core group of investors in the Copenhagen Stock Exchange listed company Victoria Properties A/S who see a large potential in the favourable German property market. The other core investors, who are all among the heavy-weights of Danish industry, include The Hempel Foundation, Wefri Real Estate A/S and The Folsgaard Family.

The initial focus of Victoria Properties will be investments in existing retail and residential properties in Berlin and Hamburg with an expected yield of 5-6%. Since the listing of Victoria Properties A/S on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange in June 2006, the shares have gone up from 137 to 210.

"During the first two months, we have experienced an overwhelming interest from Danish and foreign investors to invest in German real estate. Our objective is to offer investors an opportunity for long-term investments and exposure to Germany through acquisitions and active management of well-situated German properties," says CEO and largest shareholder in Victoria Properties A/S, Lars Thylander, who has more than 20 years' experience within real estate in Denmark and Germany. Last year Thylander, among other deals, initiated the purchase of 4,300 flats in Berlin from GSW to a consortium between Thylander Group and Proark ApS.
