Thierry Renault appointed honorary member of the RICS (UK/FR)

Thierry Renault, Deputy Managing Director of Reed MIDEM, has been appointed honorary member of the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) by Steve Williams, the organisation's president. This appointment was announced at MIPIM, which has just closed in Cannes after attracting over 21,000 delegates from all over the world.

"Thierry Renault launched MIPIM in 1990 and he and his team have turned it into the largest international forum for real estate professionals. As well as a being a major business marketplace, MIPIM has become a driver of international exchanges right across the property sector. Through his work with MIPIM, Thierry Renault has made a substantial contribution to the real estate's international outreach, so it seemed perfectly natural to welcome him as an honorary member of the RICS," said Martin Hayter, Vice President of the RICS.

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is one of the most prestigious professional organisations in the real estate and building sector, and brings together leading experts in these fields. Created in 1868 in the United Kingdom with the task of promoting the profession in the public interest, it has a membership of 120,000 today in 120 countries.

It plays a particular vital role in training and protecting consumers by ensuring adherence to high-quality standards. It offers 400 degree level courses and publishes 500 research and policy papers each year. The RICS also provides a highly valuable stream of independent information on real estate, land ownership, building and associated environmental issues.
