Located in central Switzerland just north of tourist hub Lucerne and with excellent access to transport connections, the Mall of Switzerland will offer a unique mix upon opening its doors in autumn 2017: shopping experiences enriched by a variety of fun leisure opportunities.
About 150 shops and restaurants will be supplemented by several fun attractions (e.g. indoor surfing by Jochen Schweizer, Pathé multiplex cinema with an XXL screen, ONE Training Center fitness and health club), turning the Mall into a vibrant venue for the whole family.
The Mall’s most prominent tenants are international and Swiss brands with innovative pop-up stores and showroom concepts, creating an ever-changing shopping environment. One of the many architectural highlights of the Mall, and a novelty to the shopping mall landscape of Switzerland, will be the jumping store fronts, individually designed by the tenants to enhance the brand’s exposure and providing visitors a unique high street experience.
According to Bernd Hofer, Managing Director of developing company FREO Switzerland AG: “The Mall of Switzerland will place emphasis on its comprehensive services, so that our visitors can fully enjoy their shopping experience free from annoying distractions.“
The heart of the project is 'Ebisquare': an open air 'Third Place' which combines a multitude of exciting year-round events and festivals such as a food market, providing opportunities for memories which online shopping just cannot provide. Aside from the main building, the leisure building, and the Swiss Shops all embracing Ebisquare, the project will be supplemented by a residential development, a hotel, and an office building.
The Mall of Switzerland will comprise approx. 46,000 m² GLA of retail and approx. 4,000 m² of catering space, with additional restaurants located inside the leisure building.
