The Carlyle Group appoints Henrik Orrbeck as Senior Associate (US/SE)

Global private equity firm The Carlyle Group today announces that Henrik Orrbeck has joined the European real estate team as Senior Associate. Mr. Orrbeck is based in Stockholm and focused on real estate acquisitions across the Nordic region, including Denmark, Sweden and Finland.

Mr. Orrbeck joins a team of 32 investment professionals in the European real estate team. He is the second appointment to the newly formed Nordic real estate team, headed by Thomas Lindström, who joined Carlyle in June 2006.

Thomas Lindström, Nordic Managing Director said, "I am thrilled that Henrik has joined our expanding Nordic team. We believe the Nordic region currently has great opportunities for real estate investments and with Henrik's experience of the market and financial skills we will further be able to capitalize on them."

Prior to joining Carlyle Mr. Orrbeck was an originator at GE Real Estate Nordic where he worked on acquisitions in the region. Mr. Orrbeck has also held several international positions for GE, among them Pricing Analyst at GE Capital Aviation Services in Stamford, Connecticut.

Mr. Orrbeck graduated from Jönköping International Business Scholl in 1999 and received his Master of Science in Management and Administrative Science from the University of Texas in 2000.

Carlyle has two European real estate funds, CEREP, a fund of €430 million, which is now fully invested, and CEREP II, a €760 million fund, which closed in September 2005. The funds are dedicated to investments in European real estate, across all markets. Carlyle's European real estate strategy focuses on investing in off-market real estate assets across Europe, including city centre and suburban office markets, warehousing and logistics, retail, residential and hotel, and adding value through repositioning and refurbishments.
