The total floor space of 93,000 m² combines shopping, food, art and design over three floors. There are also 11,000 m² reserved for offices. Emporia's location in Malmö's most expansive district Hyllie, in the centre of the Öresund region, makes it easy for large numbers of people to visit the centre.

Emporia is the first shopping centre in Sweden with BREEAM environmental certification. On the roof of Emporia shopping centre is a unique rooftop park that is open to the public. As well as being a magnificent viewpoint, the park is also a major part of Emporia's environmental strategy.

Emporia was designed by Wingårdhs, one of Sweden's most internationally recognized firms of architects. The architecture reflects the fact that Emporia is a sanctuary, a place for surprises. The building is both airy and enclosed. It represents both openness and curiosity, and it also creates a bubble around the exciting world of Emporia. Emporia's logo, which radiates softness and warmth, is designed on the basis of the large Amber Entrance.

Around 25,000 visitors are estimated to visit Emporia every day to enjoy a modern shopping experience in a unique environment with room for surprises. 3,000 employees make our shopping center something out of the ordinary.

Emporia is located in the center of the dynamic Öresund region and is part of the district of Hyllie, one of the City of Malmö's priority development areas. The city has a clear vision of Hyllie as a new urban center in southern Malmö, where the built environment meets the cultural landscape of Skåne. Its location by the Citytunnel station is strategically important. As well as Emporia, Hyllie is also home to Malmö Arena and Malmömässan. 2,500 homes are now also being built, with final completion in 2016.
