TCN Property Projects buys Kema-Park Arnhem (Netherlands)

Project developer TCN has signed an agreement of intent with BusinessPark Arnhem (Netherlands) to buy the former Kema ground. The transaction is said to involve an amount of €100 million.

BusinessPark Arnhem consists of 50 ha ground in Arnhem with 80,000 m² of offices and a development potential of 90,000 m². This includes the park management, for which a 5-year contract has been made with De Kats & Waalwijk Groep. Originally Kema, the owner of the ground, was the only company that was settled on the BusinessPark Arnhem. In 1997, they decided to rent the offices that Kema didn’t use to third parties, such as the headquarter of the electricity company Essent. The existing property, the office development potential of 90,000 m², the park management and the exploitation of the buildings became the responsability of BV BusinessPark Arnhem. Tenant Essent recently announced to exchange their four office buildings for the Parktoren in the station area, which is now under construction.

BusinessPark Arnhem is for sale since the spring of 2003, for which DTZ Zadelhoff executed a limited auction. Ultimately, BusinessPark Arnhem can be extended to about 170,000 m².
