Strauss & Partner Deutschland form joint venture and acquire development site at Frankfurt Airport (DE)

German Hotel Invest I GmbH & Co. KG acquires the Alpha 1.4 development site of 2,900 m² near Frankfurt Airport from the property company Grundstücksgesellschaft Gateway Gardens GmbH. The property is located in the western section of Gateway Gardens, directly next to Alpha Rotex building which houses the headquarters of DB Schenker, and within walking distance of airport Terminal 2. The concept is to raise an airport business hotel in the 3- to 4-star segment.
The building is to extend over a gross building area of around 12,000 m², and is expected to have 288 rooms along with generously sized conference facilities. The hotel will focus on the domestic and international conference and business clientele. The joint venture project is also supposed by certified under the DGNB Silver and LEED Gold sustainability standards, as this represents an in-house standard of Strauss & Partner. The detailed planning was done by the Berlin-based architectural firm of Guder+Hoffend Architekten. The partners Strauss & Partner and die Munich Hotel Invest act as developer.
“We are currently going through the planning application process, and assume that the planning permission will be approved in spring 2015. This would make April 2015 a realistic date for the start of construction as planned. We rely on proven project partners like Guder+Hoffend Architekten and contractor PORR Deutschland GmbH with whom we have collaborated for many years,” said Christian Berger, Managing Director of Strauss & Partner Deutschland.
