Start of construction operation at Holzhalbinsel Rostock in Germany (DE)

Delta Immobilienentwicklung is starting up the construction operation at Holzhalbinsel, am Strande in Rostock. After elaborate studies and concept development the city of Rostock and the international project developer follow the clearly defined route with enthusiasm. "We are about to realize a development which mixes work, accommodation, shops and leisure. Also Karavelle Quartier – the name of the project – will link the ancient inner city with the Holzhalbinsel," according to Edwin Meijerink, Director of Delta Immobilienentwicklung. Together with the mayor, the development company for Rostock WIRO and Nattler Architekten presented the extensive plans.

Rostock

The Holzhalbinsel will comprise offices, apartments, retail and leisure.

In 2008 Delta Immobilienentwicklung and the WIRO agreed on the acquisition for the development of around 15,000 m² at the Holzhalbinsel, Rostock. After elaborate studies of the area and concept development a proposal for a mixed property development, to be realized in two phases, has been developed.

Phase 1 will consist of 5,000 m² of office space, plus parking facilities with up to 400 parking places as well as 130 senior citizen purpose-built apartments and 4.500 m² of retail space. Phase 2 will consist of 38 high-quality apartments with a surface area of between 60 and 180 m². Another 1,600 m² of the project is designated for further retail development and restaurants.

This new development at Rostock's waterfront and within easy walking distance of the characteristic ancient inner city, mixes work, accommodation, shops and leisure to create a vibrant environment for all. It will become a new dynamic place which has a positive impact on the area adjacent to the project. The building demand is in a final phase. Preparing construction activities have already been started. The definitive start is planned for the beginning of the second quarter this year.

The project's architects are Nattler Architecten based in Essen. On request of the city/WIRO this office has been developed the master plan for the Holzhalbinsel. Nattler Architecten is also responsible for other developments in the city which makes them well known in Rostock. Recently long-term lease contracts were signed with Lidl, Edeka, Rossmann, and a pharmaceutical company. For the senior citizen purpose-built apartments in Karavelle Quartier, a long-term lease contract is signed with the professional RENAFAN Group. With this development Delta Immobilienentwicklung answers to the high demand for this type of housing. The sales campaign of the apartments will start shortly and will be managed by the local partner Lutter Immobilien.
