Sonae Sierra inaugurates Plaza boli in Pinto, Madrid (PT/ES)

Shopping and Leisure Centre Plaza Éboli, developed by Sonae Sierra (65%) and the Eroski Group (35%), will open its doors to the public today, in the town of Pinto - Madrid, representing an investment of € 56,1 million.

With 101 shops and 32.030 m2 of Gross Lettable Area (GLA), the Plaza Éboli features as anchor shops an Eroski hypermarket, a Cinesur complex with eight cinemas and 1260 seats, a large Zara surface and an average-sized surface of Manaje del Hogar home appliances.

The offer of this new shopping and leisure centre includes 12 restaurants and 85 fashion shops, making available many of the most prestigious brands in the market, such as Stadivarius, Pull&Bear, Mango, Massimo Dutti, Benetton, Lacoste, etc.

With 88% of its GLA already committed, the Plaza Éboli generates 1100 direct jobs and has a population of 156 thousand people in its catchment area (less than 10 minutes by car).

The scheduled number of visits for its first year of operation is 6 million, and the Sales volume for the same period is estimated to reach € 133 million.

Sonae Sierra will be responsible for the management of the new centre, which features the most sophisticated solutions in terms of environmental protection, safety and accessibility.

In fact, the Plaza Éboli has already obtained two ISO-International Standard Organization certifications:
The ISO 14001 environmental certification which attests that, through Sonae Sierra’s environmental management system, a series of procedures and actions were implemented to minimize the environmental impacts resulting from the construction work, and to maximize the environmental performance at this stage, and the ISO 17001-2 accessibility certification, assuring proper access conditions for all visitors with handicaps or limited movement.

The Plaza Éboli is Sonae Sierra’s 12th shopping centre in Spain, and its second in operation in the region of Madrid, together with the Avenida M40, in Legánes.
