SOFINEL, subsidiary of EDF and Areva, settles into Viva, Malakoff, France (FR)

SOFINEL has signed a nine year firm lease for approximately half of the available space in Viva, located in Malakoff, France.

Viva, which is owned by funds managed by MGPA and CarVal Investors, is a 17,000 m² office building currently under construction, designed by Arte Charpentier Architectes. The building is located 1 km away from the Paris ring-road in Malakoff, close to metro line 13 and the Transilien (train). Viva is scheduled to be completed in June 2013 and aims to secure both HQE (Haute Qualité Environnementale) and BBC (Bâtiment Basse Consommation) certification.

François Laboulaye, General Secretary of SOFINEL stated: "We were particularly attracted by the size of the floor plates and Viva's proximity to public transportation. This also reaffirms the presence of Group EDF and its subsidiaries in the southern outskirts of Paris."
MGPA and CarVal Investors are delighted by the success of this significant transaction, six months before the building's delivery and are confident in leasing the remaining space which boasts gardens and terraces.

Cushman & Wakefield and Lefèvre Pelletier et Associés advised MGPA and CarVal Investors. Sofinel (EDF/Areva) was advised by De Pardieu Brocas Maddei.
