Skanska has sold a sustainable retirement home with 80 apartments in the new district of Taby Park in Stockholm, Sweden, for about €30.4m (SEK 320 M). The buyer is SPP Fastigheter. The transaction will be recorded by Skanska Commercial Development Nordic in the second quarter of 2020. A lease agreement has been signed with Vardaga, who will be responsible for operating the retirement home, which covers approximately 5,600m² and will be five floors high.

The retirement home, which is being developed and built by Skanska Sweden, will meet high sustainability requirements and is going to be LEED-certified. It will have very low energy consumption and will, among other things, be equipped with solar cells on the roof. The building will be erected exclusively with sustainable building materials and no building waste will go to landfill.
