Skanska awarded office project in Norway for NOK 360m (NO)

Skanska has been commissioned to build an office and technology center in Asker, outside Oslo. The contract value is NOK 360 million (approx. €42 mln.), which will be included in order bookings for the first quarter of 2008. The customer is Birger N Haug Holding AS, a Norwegian real estate company.

The new building will comprise 25,000 m² of space on four stories, two above and two below floor level. The project will be implemented as a Design/Build contract, which means that Skanska will also be responsible for its design. The building will house office and research premises for WesternGeco, an international company that specializes in geophysical services for the oil and gas industry.

Construction work will commence immediately and is scheduled for completion in September 2009.

Skanska Norway focuses on building construction and civil engineering. The business unit has about 4,700 employees. In 2007, Skanska Norway had sales of about SEK 13 billion. Skanska is also active in Norway in the development of housing projects and Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects.
