Sjælsø initiates Copenhagen Towers in Ørestad at DKK2 bln. (DK)

One of the largest Danish commercial buildings is to be built in Ørestad, when Sjælsø Gruppen now initiates the first two stages of Copenhagen Towers of a total of 59,000 m² from a total project of 130,000 m².

Copenhagen Towers has been drawn by the world-famous architects Foster + Partners and Dissing + Weitling. The result is an exciting and eye-catching construction with two notable towers which will be for hotel and office purposes as well as a number of shared facilities in the complex whereby the users are offered a wide range of services in their every day lives.

In connection with the establishment of the project, an agreement has been entered into with InterContinental Hotels Group about the opening of a 4 star Crowne Plaza hotel with 365 rooms and related conference facilities.

The project is expected to be ready in 2009, and in time for the hotel to be taken into operation in connection with the big climate conference in Copenhagen in the autumn of 2009.

Cooperation with SG Nord Holding
In March 2006, Sjælsø Gruppen entered into a joint venture with SG Nord Holding, which owns approx. 30% of Sjælsø Gruppen, about acquisition of the land site and development of the total project of a total of 130,000 m² in Ørestad. Sjælsø Gruppen and SG Nord Holding have concluded agreement about SG Nord Holding's acquisition of stage 1 of approx. 32,000 m² comprising the hotel and conference parts as well as minor office facilities.
