Siemens signs Memorandum of Understanding with Dubai Industrial City (UAE)

Siemens to lease 160,000 ft² (approx. 14,800 m²) of offices and warehouses to set up a regional training centre for its automation group, a service center for Siemens' power group as well as project execution offices.

Dubai Industrial City, a member of Tatweer, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Siemens LLC, allowing the latter access to lease a total of 160,000 ft² (approx. 14,800 m²) of offices and warehousing space at the leading industrial destination in the UAE.

The MoU was signed yesterday between Joachim Kundt, CEO of Siemens LLC, and Rashed Al Ansari, CEO of Dubai Industrial City, in the presence of senior management of both organizations.

Rashed Al Ansari stated after the signing of the MoU: "Siemens will benefit from the state-of-the-art office facilities and warehouses that we are building and their presence with us will further strengthen our position as an industrial hub for the UAE and the region."

Joachim Kundt echoed a similar view: "Our operations in the region have been on a major growth curve over the last two years. Our new facilities in Dubai Industrial City will give us a significant advantage in expanding our extensive local presence on ground to respond even faster to our clients' needs."

In addition, to technical engineering and project execution offices, the new facility is expected to host a regional training center for Siemens' automation group and a service centre for the power group.

Rashed further added that the MoU will allow Siemens to benefit from the added advantage of being close to main business areas in Dubai.

"Our strategic location on the main highways of the UAE and being adjacent to the Al Maktoum International Airport (Dubai World Central) and 10 minutes away from Jebel Ali Free Zone and Port will definitely come as a positive point to Siemens and will support their logistics operation out of Dubai Industrial City."
