The Valuation and Market Analysis (VMA) Services team of Colliers International in Sofia is LEEDing the way, now that all consultants in the department have obtained the LEED Green Associate credential of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). Svetla Parmakova, Eftim Eftimov and Ralitsa Yordanova are not only the first LEED GA-accredited professionals in Bulgaria, but also the first in Europe to offer a service based on the concepts of sustainability and green building.
"Commercialization of properties is soon bound to depend on holistic cost-benefit analyses that take into account specific factors that reduce the maintenance cost of a building. Now that Colliers International has certified valuations specialists in the field of sustainable development, we will be in position to offer services of immense value added. Our clients will have their projects valuated in accordance with established sustainability and energy efficiency criteria, and this is definitely going to enhance the financial impact estimation of their projects," Georgi Kirov, Director of Investment and Corporate Advisory Services of Colliers, Bulgaria commented on the team's achievement.
Colliers International continually invests in the professional development of its employees within the framework of a regional initiative for sustainable development and environment. Currently, the LEED accredited professionals at Colliers are seven, amongst which is the first LEED AP specialist in Bulgaria. The program is part of the Company's strategy to promote and contribute to the sustainable development of the real estate sector. "In less than six months our team in Bulgaria successfully met all LEED certification requirements and criteria. In fact, we had allocated two years for this complex process. This is why I am extremely proud that my colleagues have completed their certification in such a short time," said Atanas Garov, Managing Director of Colliers International.
Back in 2009, Nevena Bogoeva, Key Account Manager, Valuations and Market Analysis at Colliers International, was the first expert in Bulgaria to be officially certified by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, RICS.
