Segro welcomes Westgate Handling Services to upper floor at X2, Heathrow (UK)

SEGRO, the leading European owner-manager and developer of industrial property, is pleased to welcome Westgate Handling Services Limited, a freight handling company, to the upper floor at X2, Heathrow. The company will occupy unit 7, totaling 27,452 ft² (approx. 2,550 m²) on a 10-year lease.

This is the latest lease SEGRO has signed at X2 and it follows hot on the heels of the deal agreed with Freightnet in April 2012 to lease 36,524 ft², also on the top deck.

Brian Lawrence of Westgate Handling Services, commented: "We chose to secure this unit as X2 offers modern business space located close to the airport, which is of prime importance for our business. We plan to use this space for storage and distribution purposes."

Simon Lanyon of SEGRO, added: "We are delighted to welcome Westgate Handling Services as the latest occupier to the top floor of X2. In the past month we have secured deals totaling almost 64,000 ft² at X2, which represents over half of the space available to lease at this landmark development. This latest deal shows there continues to be demand for well located industrial space in close proximity to Heathrow airport and its surrounding environment."

X2, a two-story warehouse facility, is configured to provide full lorry access and loading on both levels. Located close to the southern runway at London Heathrow, X2 benefits from direct access onto the Perimeter Road and is adjacent to one of the airport's principal road junctions with links to the M25, M4, M3 and M40.

For airside access, Control Post 24 which serves Terminals 1, 2 and 3 is also nearby. In addition, X2 faces Hatton Cross Underground and bus station, providing excellent public transport links to London and the surrounding residential areas.
