Savills spreads wings in Sweden with new Gothenburg business (SE)

Savills will launch a new office in Gothenburg, Sweden through the acquisition of a team of four from CB Richard Ellis (CBRE). They will join Savills existing business in Sweden on December 9, 2010, establishing a second office alongside its Stockholm headquarters.

The team of four comprises Head of Office Anders Rydstern as well as Leif Johansson, Andreas Berggren and Henrik Roderhult. They will provide valuation and investment transaction advice to both domestic and international investors. The team will be the foundation for a full service office in Gothenburg and will expand to meet client demand.

Anders Rydstern has over 25 years' experience in the market, and was most recently head of valuation and advisory for CB Richard Ellis having also worked at Deloitte, Anderson Global Corporate Finance and Catella. He has advised on transactions for Heimstaden totaling SEK 11 billion and ABG Sundahl Collier for SEK 23 billion. International clients have included Credit Suisse First Boston, Bankers Trust, Deutsche Bank and DB Real Estate.

Colleague Leif Johansson has almost 20 years' experience at companies including CBRE, Catella, Castellum AB, Higabgruppen AB and Deloitte, and has undertaken advisory work on acquisitions of portfolios, rental values and annual valuation practice for over 1,300 properties. Both Andreas Berggren and Henrik Roderbult have over five years working in the valuation and advisory arena for both domestic and international clients.

Ulf Nilsson, Head of Savills Sweden, says: "The Gothenburg team bring a wealth of experience with both international and domestic clients. Swedish real estate transactions have, over the past couple of years, been characterized by domestic players but as activity picks up with the re-emergence of foreign players, we will in a strong position to help them with a wider geographical coverage and deep knowledge of the properties in this market."

Anders Rydstern, appointed Head of Savills Gothenburg, adds: "Savills has been established in Sweden for over five years and in this time has gained market recognition for some high profile domestic deals. We are pleased to build on the platform the existing Stockholm team has created and look forward to helping take this business forward by developing new relationships and seeking out exciting opportunities for clients as we expand our team."

Savills Gothenburg office will be located in Gothenburg CBD and the address will be announced shortly.

This follows the appointment of Karin Zakariasson, MRICS, who recently joined as head of valuation at Savills Stockholm based office. Karin, who was previously head of valuation at Swedish based property advisor Newsec, will grow the firm's valuation practice in order to achieve a leading position in Sweden.
