Following the Hamburg parliament its counterpart in Kiel has also approved the increase in capital of €3 billion as well as the guarantee amounting to €10 billion. The first major step has thus been taken and the road is clear for the realignment of HSH Nordbank.
"With their 'yes' votes on the concept the two states have shown their commitment to HSH Nordbank and thus to the region and to its business community. The decision provides a proper and important signal for the staff, clients and investors. We shall now use the trust placed in us to forge ahead with the realignment at full speed and thus carry the Bank to new strength," said CEO Dirk Jens Nonnenmacher. "We are fully aware of the task and responsibility ahead and we will be a reliable partner to the business community especially during the current difficult times."
