Registered unemployment was 177 thousand on average in the months August to October, slightly higher than in the previous three-month period according to figures from Statistics Netherlands.

In the months August to October unemployment in the Netherlands was an average 177 thousand. As there were hardly any seasonal effects on balance in this period, the seasonally adjusted figure was 178 thousand, four thousand higher than in the previous three-month period.
Compared with six months ago the figure is 15 thousand higher, which comes to an equivalent of an increase of two to three thousand a month. A few months ago the rate of increase was five to seven thousand a month. The rate of increase is therefore slowing down.
