Reed MIDEM, the organizer of international tradeshows for professionals, has announced that it will open MIPIM Asia in Hong Kong in September 2006.
âThis is an exciting expansion for us,â says Paul Zilk, Chief Executive Officer of Reed MIDEM. âMIPIM Asia will bring property professionals from across the Asia-Pacific region together with Asian and international investors. Our choice of Hong Kong is the result of research and consultation with our clients and reflects the pivotal position of Hong Kong within the region.â
MIPIM Asia will be based on the MIPIM international property market concept. The 16th edition of MIPIM is currently taking place in Cannes, France and has attracted over 17,000 property professionals from 72 countries. âMIPIM provides over 2,000 companies with the chance to exhibit their expertise. It is also a major conference and networking event designed to help the 5,500 exhibiting and visiting companies to maximise their business opportunities. MIPIM Asia will seek to replicate this successful format,â notes Paul Zilk.
The MIPIM Asia announcement comes one year after Reed MIDEM unveiled the launch of GLOBAL CITY, the international forum for urban decision-makers, which is taking place for the first time in Cannes, March 6-8 2005. In its first year, GLOBAL CITY has attracted over 900 participants from 34 countries.
