Quintain to create Wembley Park alfresco dining destination (GB)

Brent Council has approved Quintain’s plans to significantly extend outdoor seating across Wembley Park this summer, more than doubling the alfresco dining space. Quintain has announced it plans to reopen the Wembley Park dining offer from 04 July 2020, in keeping with yesterday’s new government guidelines. Working closely with Brent Council and its food and beverage tenants, the developer has agreed on a strategy to create an alfresco dining destination across the largely pedestrianised 85-acre estate. Additionally, bench seating will be installed to allow visitors to enjoy socially distanced takeaways from many of the food and beverage operators.

Matt Slade, Retail Director at Quintain, said: “After three months of closure, this is an incredibly important time for our restaurants, as well as our local community. We are committed to providing a full range of community services in addition to a world-class retail, dining and leisure offer. This commitment is reflected in our work with Brent Council to more than double the provision of outdoor dining across the estate. This will significantly help to support our tenants in reopening and welcoming back their loyal customers within the social distancing and Government health and safety guidelines.”

The food and beverage offer at Wembley Park includes an imaginative spectrum of artisan independent, local and major operators, many of which have adapted their offer to enable visitors to maintain social distancing. Pasta Remoli will operate a click-and-collect model, encouraging visitors to order via a scannable QR code, to limit queuing. The restaurant has also installed retractable glass screens throughout. Meanwhile, having already opened for takeaway services, London’s largest Boxpark, Bread Ahead and Black Sheep will expand their outdoor seating provision. Furthermore, hairdresser ChopChop and MoreYoga are also due to reopen on 04 July 2020, in line with the Government’s easing of restrictions for leisure operators.

Wembley Park already benefits from wide boulevards and walkways designed to accommodate large event crowds at Wembley Stadium and The SSE Arena. Alongside appealing landscaped public realm,  a number of public art installations and a programme of entertainment will provide an enjoyable customer experience.
