Proposed appointment of L.C. Brinkman to the Supervisory Board of AM NV

The Supervisory Board of AM NV (Amstelland MDC) announces that it intends to appoint Mr. L.C. (Elco) Brinkman Supervisory Director. The shareholders will have the opportunity to discuss this proposed appointment, for a term of four years, at the General Meeting of Shareholders on 10 December 2003.

Mr. Brinkman (born 1948) has been invited to join the Supervisory Board in view of the breadth of his management experience. He was Minister of Health, Welfare and Culture in the first (1982â€"1986) and second (1986â€"1989) Lubbers administrations and until 1994 was chairman of the parliamentary CDA party in the Lower House. Since 1995 he has combined his position as President of the Federation of Dutch Contractors’ Organisations (AVBB) with a variety of advisory and supervisory positions with both public-sector and private-sector organisations. These include chairmanship of the Central Housing Fund (Centraal Fonds Volkshuisvesting), vice-chairmanship of the Executive Board and General Council of VNO-NCW (Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers), chairmanship of the Board of Governors of ABP Pension Fund, membership of the VROM (Housing, Spatial Planning and Environment) Council, deputy membership of the SER (Social and Economic Council), vice-chairmanship of the Supervisory Board of VU (Amsterdam Free University) and chairmanship of the Board of Trustees of Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds. He is also a member of the Supervisory Boards of Du Pont de Nemours (Nederland) B.V., FGH Bank N.V., NOB Holding N.V. and Philip Morris Holland B.V.

Mr. Brinkman’s appointment will increase the membership of AM’s Supervisory Board to four. The Board currently comprises Messrs. C. Boonstra (Chairman), A.D.J.G. van Dam and L.J.M. Pijnenburg.
