Promos S.r.l., headed by Carlo Maffioli, will work alongside the real estate developer Tecnall S.r.l. owner of the structure and exclusive licensee for Sicily of the 'Fashion District' trademark in the promotion of Melilli Outlet, handling activities of marketing and management.
This is the first case of brand concession in the Italian retail real estate sector, with an agreement regulated by a contract for the license to use the Fashion District trademark in favor of Tecnall, based on the confidence in their respective skills of all the partners involved in the initiative and a shared view of a common business culture.
Melilli Outlet, licensed by Fashion District, will open in the summer of 2011 in the heart of the Siracusa district, one of the most dynamic areas of Sicily from the economic and social standpoint, with 100 stores on a GLA of 24,000 m², in the context of the Belvedere integrated shopping center, where there are already large stores representing the Auchan, Decathlon and Media World chains, a hotel, a sports center, an aquatic park and an office complex.
Strategically located near the splendid beaches of the Ionian Sea and the extraordinary archeological sites of Siracusa, the Fashion District of Melilli will have a large user pool, with 3.5 million tourist arrivals a year and over a million residents within 60 minutes by car.
The total investment in the project, financed by UniCredit, will amount to around 75 million.
Marketing activities are proceeding successfully, also driven by the confirmation of the presence of the Max Mara Group with the first store operating under the 'Diffusione Tessile' brand in Sicily, expected to be the largest in Italy.
