ProLogis signs two new customers in Germany

ProLogis, a leading global provider of distribution facilities and services, announced yesterday that it has signed two new leases, totaling 20,000 m2 of distribution space, to Kayaba Europe GmbH near Duesseldorf and tts Global Logistics GmbH in Cologne.

Kayaba, a leading manufacturer of shock absorber systems for the automotive industry, will lease a 10,000 m2 facility just outside Duesseldorf in ProLogis Park Krefeld, a major distribution center consisting of 35,000 m2 of space in three facilities.

The park is strategically located adjacent to several major highways, including A44 and A57 Motorways, and is in close proximity to Duesseldorf Airport. Kayaba will use the facility to distribute products to customers throughout Germany, Holland and other key locations in Europe.

ProLogis Park Krefeld is ideal for companies that need a central location and immediate access to Duesseldorf and the Netherlands, said Roland Hennebach, market officer for ProLogis. Kayaba is a model customer for us, one that needs flexible distribution space to help optimize their supply chain operations. The state-of-the-art amenities and the location of this facility will allow Kayaba to meet its distribution requirements.

Third-party logistics provider, tts Global Logistics, will lease 10,000 m2 in Cologne at ProLogis Park Cologne. The park, which currently totals 30,000 m2, is situated alongside the A4 Highway, a major transportation route running through the city, and within several kilometres of the Cologne/Bonn Airport. The close proximity to major railway terminals makes it a central location for distributing products in Germany and throughout Europe.

According to Mr. Hennebach, The facility will allow tts Global Logistics to leverage the nearby transportation systems to create greater efficiencies in shipping products on behalf of their customers.

Currently, ProLogis owns and operates more than 92,500 m2 of industrial space in Germany.
