ProLogis Leases 723,000 Square Feet (67,000 m²) in Europe (UK/CZ)

ProLogis (NYSE: PLD), a leading global provider of distribution facilities, announced July 1st that it has signed second-quarter development portfolio lease agreements totaling approximately 723,000 square feet (67,168 m²) with two customers in Europe.

"We are pleased to announce additional leasing activity in the European continent," said Philip Dunne, ProLogis president in Europe. "We continue to see stabilization in the local markets, especially in the UK, where we have just signed our sixth new lease this year. This brings us to a total of approximately 1.7 million square feet (157,900 m²) of leasing in newly developed facilities in the UK year to date."

Recent activity included leases with:
ASOS, UK's largest online fashion and beauty retailer. In order to expand and improve delivery options for its customers, the retailer will occupy 530,000 square feet (49,200 m²) of previously unleased space at ProLogis Barnsley, located in South Yorkshire, UK. With this transaction, the building is now fully leased.

Sony, a leading global manufacturer of audio, video, game, communications, key device and information technology products for the consumer and professional markets. The company will occupy 193,000 square feet (18,000 m²) of previously unleased space at ProLogis Park Pilsen-Stenovice Building One, located near Pilsen, Czech Republic. The park faces the D5 motorway, the only highway connection between Prague and western Germany. As a result of this transaction, ProLogis Park Pilsen-Stenovice is now fully leased.
