Prologis acquires multimodal distribution facility in The Netherlands (NL)

Prologis, Inc., the leading global owner, operator and developer of logistics real estate, today announced the acquisition of a 12,700 m² distribution center in Waalwijk, The Netherlands.

The strategically-located multimodal facility is fully leased to Docdata, a full service e-commerce company and repeat customer, which also occupies the adjacent Prologis facility, Waalwijk DC1. As a result of the acquisition, Prologis now owns and operates 41,000 m² of distribution space in Waalwijk.

“The reconfiguration of the European supply chain from a national to a pan-European model continues driving demand for high quality facilities,” says Bram Verhoeven, vice president of Prologis Benelux.

“Waalwijk, in the south of The Netherlands, is an important regional logistics hub for the Benelux with easy access to Rotterdam and Antwerp via the A59 motorway as well as ROC Waalwijk, a transshipment center with a deep marine channel. The acquisition of this modern, highly-efficient facility strengthens our position in an important market while allowing us to build on our relationship with an important customer.”

The facility is located in Haven Zeven, a modern multimodal business park in Waalwijk harbor, next to Waalwijk DC1, a 28,300 m² Prologis-owned facility.

Prologis acquired the property on behalf of the Prologis European Property Fund II and was advised by Lexence.

Prologis’ Benelux portfolio totals 1.2 million m² in 62 buildings.
