Prologis acquires 22,300-m² distribution center in Waalwijk (NL)

Prologis, Inc., the leading global owner, operator and developer of industrial real estate, has acquired a 22,300-m² distribution center for Prologis European Properties Fund II. The facility, located in Haven Zeven Industrial Park, is fully leased to logistics service provider Docdata Fulfilment B.V.

Docdata has requested an expansion of more than 6,000 m², with an expected delivery in March 2012. The entire building will then measure 28,300 m².

Docdata Fulfilment B.V. provides fulfillment services for the growing e-commerce industry, working with companies such as Bol.com, the Bijenkorf and V&D, among others. "We're really excited about getting to work in this new location," commented Jack Heijkans, Managing Director of Docdata.

"Haven Zeven offers us what we need, both now and for the future in terms of growth and modality. With this new space we are ready for anything, and we're able to serve all our customers' needs."

"With this building, we're able to meet Docdata's current needs as well as adapt to the company's future growth, while at the same time further strengthening our position at an important logistics axis," said Bram Verhoeven, Vice President and Market Officer for Prologis Benelux.

In recent years, Waalwijk has become a highly sought-after location for logistics and distribution. Haven Zeven is a modern, multimodal industrial park well supported by transportation infrastructure: proximity to the A59 highway; an operating base with little traffic and easy access to Rotterdam, Antwerp, Breda and Utrecht; the presence of a regional transshipment center (ROC Waalwijk); and a deep inland waterway.
