Project boom for Multi in Turkey (TU/NL)

Multi Turkmall has started construction of two new projects: Forum Aydin located in Aydýn, the largest city in the Aegean Region of Turkey, and Forum TEM, located in Istanbul, the biggest city of Turkey. Multi entered the Turkish market in 2004 and has since showed a spectacular growth. Multi Turkmall, based in Istanbul opened its first shopping center Forum Bornova in Izmir in 2006. At present there are thirteen shopping centers and mixed-use projects under construction and under development totalling up to 1,200,000 m². There is another 500,000 m² of projects in the pipeline.

Istanbul based Multi Turkmall has established its prominent position on the Turkish commercial real estate market with an extensive portfolio of retail and leisure projects realized, under development and in progress totalling up to 1,700,000 m². With its specific "Design & Development" formula the company places high priority on design quality. A new contextual concept in retail development was successfully introduced to the Turkish market with projects that form a new and distinct identity for a location and effect both economic and social regeneration at its edges. Following the opening of Forum Bornova in 2006, Multi Turkmall will open its second shopping center Forum Mersin in Mersin this October.

For 2008 another five new retail and leisure schemes are scheduled to open: Forum Çamlýk-Denizli, Forum Trabzon, Forum Ankara, Forum Aydin and Forum Istanbul and six more in 2009: Forum Antalya, Forum TEM-Istanbul, Forum Kayseri, Forum Diyarbakýr, Forum Gaziantep and Forum Kapadokya-Nevþehir. Multi Turkmall plans to have realized the development of 20 Forum projects in Turkey by 2010. With its thirteen projects spread over twelve cities in Turkey, Multi Turkmall will create direct employment opportunities for approximately 30,000 people.

Forum TEM - Istanbul
Developed on an area of 75,000 m², Forum TEM is strategically located next to the TEM highway in the Gaziosmanpaþa district. The TEM Highway is one of the busiest routes in Europe, carrying both local and long distance traffic between Asia and Europe. The project site is easily accessible from the whole urban area of the city, including the western and southern suburbs.

Forum TEM comprises 72,000 m² of retail & services including a hypermarket, a DIY store, a multiplex cinema, well-known department stores, and shops of national and international brands. The project also includes a large food court, a state of the art office tower and a three level underground parking area with a capacity of 3,250 cars.
