Prelios Immobilien Management to manage the “Schlossberg Center” in Marburg (DE)

Prelios Immobilien Management has concluded a comprehensive management agreement for the “Schlossberg Center” located in Marburg’s city center. The full-service real estate service provider will take over responsibility for center management, leasing, and commercial and technical property management for the shopping center that comprises some 12,200 m² of rental space.
The Schlossberg Center, which is located on Universitätsstraße, is leased by C&A, Lidl, New Yorker, Deichmann, Vero Moda, a fitness studio and AOK health insurance, among others.
“The “Schlossberg Center” in Marburg featuring a  grade-A retail profile is a very well situated investment property that has been excellently integrated into the city center and which attracts many visitors every day. Through continuous optimization measures, we will utilize the shopping center’s existing potential in the interest of the owner,” said Martin Mörl, Managing Director of Prelios Immobilien Management. “This management agreement is further evidence of the trust that investors have in our management expertise,” added Mörl.
The Schlossberg Center, situated in the direct vicinity of Marburg’s old town, is the result of extensive renovations made in 2001 to the former “Horten” department store, which opened at this location in 1973. Due to its hillside location, there is street-side access to first floor of the shopping centre from the rear. The property features more than 8,000 square metres of retail space for rent, while 64 parking spots in the basement belong to more than 4,000 square metres of office and other space. The Schlossberg Center is owned by a German Spezialfonds managed on behalf of institutional investors.
In addition to shopping centers and department stores, Prelios Immobilien Management develops, sells and manages office and commercial buildings, as well as hotel and mixed-use properties at many locations across Germany.
