The Queen´s Commissionar in Groningen, mr Hans Alders, has, through a letter to government, expressed his anxiety over a possible delay in the construction of the Zuiderzeelijn (ZZLink) and requests the government to stick to its promises.
It was geenerally expected that the government and local authorities would sign the cooperation agreement this month. This is necessary to ask private companies to invest in the project. It seems that the government now intends to postpone this after a new government has been formed after the general elections in January 2003.
