Pilot year for pan-European BREEAM Retail scheme nears completion (EU)

As the pilot year for the pan-European BREEAM Retail scheme nears completion, 27 projects have been registered and are currently piloted under the scheme in 10 countries on continental Europe.

The scheme was developed in collaboration with the International Council of Shopping Centres European Sustainability Working Group, chaired by Jaap Gillis ICSC Trustee, Past European Board Chair and COO Redevco B.V. and BRE Global.

Feedback is key to making BREEAM Europe an effective sustainable tool and relevant within each country. BREEAM invites individuals who have worked on BREEAM retail property certification to provide input and feedback on the technical sections within the manuals and the key features of the schemes. Feedback workshops are being held in Amsterdam, Paris, Copenhagen, Brussels, Madrid, Bucharest (which will cover Central & Eastern Europe and the Russian Federation), Stuttgart, Istanbul and Watford. This will result in revisions to the BREEAM International schemes and training courses.
