Panel discussion on sustainability at Mapic

On Wednesday November 14th Marinus Dijkman, Editor in Chief, handed over the first copy of Retail Space Europe 2008 to Ermine Amies, Managing Director of ICSC in Europe on the first day of MAPIC, the retail real estate show held in Cannes, France, every November –this year attended by around 10,000 people. In the afternoon leading retail experts from around Europe gathered for a Real Estate Publishers (REP) panel discussion. "Sustainability" was the subject of the discussion, which continued one of the prevailing themes of REP's new 580-page Retail Space Europe yearbook officially launched by Redevco COO Jaap Gillis, chairman of the ICSC European Board, during the opening minutes of the panel discussion.

Both focused on attitudes towards sustainable development of shopping facilities.
